Created in c. 1975 this original, 100% wool tapestry is the only example from the rare, uncompleted edition of tapestries featuring this composition by Yvaral. Original authentication documentation accompanies this work, certified by Ms. Michèle Vasarely.
Hexagons are delineated in infinite numbers up above and angular, triangle-compositions create a 3-D visual illusion attributed to this unique Op Artist. Yvaral’s work is best known for the gridded effects he creates that break up an image or become the entire image itself as seen with this work. Completely abstract, the repetition of grey, black, and white causes the viewer’s eye to play tricks on them as the focus moves from the foreground and into the horizon line.
