Utilizing his mathematical arrangement of images and colors, this work has a richness of depth and harmony created through the use of a range of lights and darks. Engaging the viewer through the use of bold dynamic shapes and colors, subtle nuances of primary hues reveal themselves upon further examination.
With a glossy sheen to the surface area, this work presents itself as a hexagonal puzzle of shapes and colors. Arranging diminishing geometrics of blues within a border of yellow, Vasarely tricks the viewer's eye through the use of optical illusions. A sense of motion is created by way of gradual transitions of lighter and darker blues and yellows. The total effect of this play on color and shape is visually stunning and impressive in the amount of thought and skill put into the arrangement of shapes and colors.
This original color serigraph is hand-signed by Victor Vasarely (Pécs, 1906 - Paris, 1997) in pencil in the lower right margin. Numbered 104/ 250, this piece is in excellent condition with bright and fresh colors.
