Piero Crommelynck Avec Sa Femme Et Sa Fille Dans L'Atelier II (Piero Crommelynck With His Wife And His Girl In The Workshop II), 1968 explores the use of blunt lines against a stark black background. The first thing that pops out upon first glance is the washed out easel on the far left. Its surface is extremly scratched out where the white contrast is almost blinding. Piero Crommelynck With His Wife And His Girl In The Workshop II), 1968 presents itself a highly animated work in a simple layout. Our eyes glaze over to the tall figure of Piero Crommelynck in the left of the pictorial frame. We are able to see an extremely exaggerated human body that has an immediate animalistic presence. His arm calmingly sits atop his daughter’s head who stares directly at the audience. Her hands stretch out side by side in an open manner as if inviting the audience inwards. Like many other works by Picasso, there is an inclusive element that allows us to feel connected to his works.
