This colorful and elegant ceramic plate takes on a jovial feel as a dotted background surrounds a caricatured faun. With gorgeous shades of blues set against white, this work pops out at the viewer. A rather full composition compared to Picasso's other ceramic works, this mischievous faun is begging for your attention.
Created in 1948, this white earthenware clay rectangular dish with decoration in engobes (white, blue, black, turquoise), under glaze is numbered from the edition of 200. It is stamped with the 'MADOURA PLEIN FEU' and 'EDITION PICASSO' pottery stamps on the reverse.
