Conveying the illusion of motion, Nierman utilizes waspy strokes of vivid color to convey this sense of "flight sensation." The center of the piece is illuminated in white, relaying the impression that the viewer is moving quickly through a tunnel, towards a brilliantly lit destination. On either side of this luminous white orb, strokes of paint in browns, blacks, and dark teals expand outwards, reminiscent of large wings. These strokes are not clearly delineated but rather slightly transparent, further contributing to this sense of motion, as if these "wings" are flapping up and down. Nierman speckles the painting with areas of bright red, adding a flash color to capture the viewer's eye.
This original oil on masonite painting is hand signed by Leonardo Nierman (Mexico City, 1932 - ) in white paint in the lower left. Also titled "Flight Sensation" in black marker on the verso.
