Pink, yellow and red sublimely blend in this beautiful composition. Miró was greatly inspired by the Japanese poetry form Haiku and titled the lithographs in this series accordingly. The poetic structure of a Haiku is brief and focuses on momentary perception. Indeed, the brilliant colors of the work present a direct and terse visual configuration of an abstract form. With the title in mind, we can imagine the bright yellow colors as a moon lit glow slowly rising above the mountains.
Created in 1967, this color lithograph is hand signed by Joan Miró (Barcelona, 1893 - Palma, 1983) in pencil in the lower right work is numbered from the edition of 100 in pencil in the lower left; published by Maeght Éditeur, Paris.
