Full of Miró’s signature color and abstraction, Joan Miró Le Grand Ordonnateur (The Big Organizer), 1969 fills any room with playful and spontaneous energy. The thick black lines look solid, but upon closer inspection are more complicated – they hold the pocked texture of the carborundum, adding a delightful textural element to the work. The watercolor feel of the aquatint provides a soothing contrast to the solid colors. Central is a small face, composed of two eyes and a line connecting them which appears as a nose.
