Historical Description

Joan Miró, Partie de Campagne II (A Day in the Country II), 1967 is a whimsical piece composed of criss-crossing this black lines, arrows, and stars placed against bright dots of color. To the lower left, a luminescent red orb captures the viewer's eye while next to it, a lattice like structure leads the viewers eye upwards. Arrows throughout the composition guide the viewer's gaze, yet the viewer finds it difficult to focus on a single component of this wonderfully captivating work. Each figure appears strikingly unique yet interacts perfectly with those around it.
