Created in 1979, this color etching and aquatint is the frontispiece for "Miranda," one of two 36-page volumes of fairytales by André Pieyre de Mandiargues. It is hand-signed by Joan Miró (1893 – 1983) in pencil in the lower right margin. An edition of 130 copies were pulled on Arches paper and numbered 46 to 175. There were 3 other editions: one of 15 pulled on pearl Japan paper and numbered from 1 to 15, one of 30 pulled on Auvergne Richard-de-Bas and numbered from 16 to 45, and one of 25 on Arches marked as not-for-sale, numbered I to XXV, and reserved for the author and artist. Published by RLD, Paris and printed by Morsang, Paris.
