Cocteau's artistic style is described as the marriage between art and life-creativity and functionality. In a Renaissance style, Cocteau was an artist in the multiple fields of music, theatre, film, literary arts, visual arts, and utilitarian art. He was inspired my multiple muses spanning centuries of creative genius-from ancient Greek gods and goddesses, to his famed contemporaries like Pablo Picasso and Coco Channel.
Jean Cocteau Untitled Dancers, ceramic dish is the harmonious blend of color and composition. Three linear figures dance joyfully with arms outstretched and hands grasped. In the background Cocteau includes bright blue clouds and vivid red flowers. This work contains a guaranteed authentic signature by Jean Cocteau in the decoration in the lower right. The piece is number 6/50 on the bottom. The bottom also reads, 'Edition Originale de Jean Cocteau Atelier Madaline Jolly.' This is a splendid work in wonderful condition with clear markings!
