Damien Hirst Minnie (Pink Glitter), 2016 is a bright and vivacious work which echoes the simplicity of youth. This interpretation of Disney's Minnie Mouse is constructed of overlapping circles which differ in size and stands in front of a bright background of pink glitter. Two yellow circles perform as her signature yellow shoes and are accentuated with four petite red circles. Her torso is composed of a red sphere which is overlapped by three small white ones. Her head and classic red bow are illustrated with several circles in red,  ochre and black. This playful screenprint subverts the classic popular imagery of Mickey and Minnie Mouse, and brings the joy of childhood into the adult setting of the fine art world.

Created in 2016, this screenprint with glitter is hand signed by Damien Hirst (Bristol, 1965-) and stamped with the artist’s seal on the verso and numbered from the monumental and rare edition of 150 on the reverse.
