German Expressionism: German Expressionism was a off-shoot of Expressionism. It maintained the same rules as Expressionism, such as the idea of subjective reality and the distortion of reality to evoke a reaction from the viewer. In Germany in particular, the historical and social background of a Post-World War I Germany influenced many of the artists.
